Ken Christiansen

Ken trained at the Drama Centre, London.

Theatre credits include: Lord Of The Flies (Regents Park), An Inspector Calls (National Theatre/West End) and Mother Courage And Her Children (National Theatre), Antony And Cleopatra (RSC), The School Of Night (RSC), A Jovial Crew (RSC), Misha’s Party (RSC), Fool For Love (English Touring Theatre), Mark Ravenhill’s Handbag (Actors Touring Company), An Absolute Turkey (Peter Hall Company), Unleashed (Arcola) and White Something (Arcola). He also directed and performed in many plays during his 6 years as Artistic Director of the award-winning Operating Theatre Company.

Television work includes: Picking Up The Pieces, Insiders, Coronation Street, Screen Two: Mrs Hartley And The Growth Centre, The History File: Germany (BAFTA winner), Cracker, Where The Heart Is, Casualty, Holby City, Dream Team, Peak Practice, Midsomer Murders, Hollyoaks, Doctors and The Bill. He is currently filming Kingmakers, a 6-part political drama serial for South African TV.

Films include: the 2014 BAFTA nominated The Selfish Giant (Moonspun Films/Film4), Treacle (Film4), War Bride (Random Harvest), Fish-Eye, First Love, Last Day On Earth (BRC), Gorka, The Obit Woman and several films due for a 2014 release including the feature Chasing Robert Barker, Bug and The Resurrection.

Ken has just recorded John Browne's original music for a BBC Radio 4 version of The Events, a new play by David Greig and he recently workshopped the forthcoming musical, Persephone, by Diane Samuels and Maurice Chernick. However, this appearance in Pacific Overtures is his musical theatre debut.
